In Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradberry being a rebel and rebelling against society is the only way to gain the full truth. In this book education and knowledge is limited in society, and if someone were wanting to seek out more they would therefore have to rebel against society. In the book, they seek out old books and reminisce when books were legal and even recommended. Obviously, the rebel and main character is Montag. Even Clarisse could be seen as a rebel when she asked Montag questions which motivated him to seek the truth. But truly the main difference between the two was even though Clarisse questioned the ways of society, Montag did go against the justice system. Montag steals a book from a fire, he was caught in his house and was burned down. Montag resisted arrest, killed the fire chief, and then fled the city. Once out of the city Montag meets an entire group of rebels. These rebels were members of a community all over the world who had entire books and important transcripts memorized. together they would rewrite the books of society in their history. if it weren't for the rebels in Fahrenheit 451 nobody would know the truth about their history, and there would be no hope. In a stereotypical story, a rebel only brings chaos in trouble but in Fahrenheit 451 the rebels are heroes in or idolized by society.
