The Mockingjay is a symbol of resistance to the Capitol. The bow and arrow symbolize strength and direction.
Wants to Control:
Katniss wants to protect her family and friends from the Capitol throughout the games and the series itself. She doesn't want to control the Capitol.
Values/Beliefs:
She believes in equality for all and that no one should have to unwillingly participate in the Hunger Games. She also believes in revolutionizing the way of life by removing the district system.

Appearance:
Katniss is a Teenage girl with a slender figure, long black hair that is usually secured in a side braid, grey eyes, and olive skin. She is usually depicted and shown with a bow and arrow.
Thoughts About Inner Self:
Initially, she was only involved in the protection of her sister Prim, however, as the story progressed, she wanted equality for all and for the cruel Hunger Games and discrimination to stop. She is fueled by her desire to protect her family and friends.
Loves/Cares About:
Katniss loves and cares about her family and friends as well as equality and justice.
Vices:
She is strong and stubborn; she is passionate about her beliefs and isn't afraid to fight for what's right.
Family/Personality/Background/Conflict:
Katniss has a mother, a younger sister, and a late father. She is strong and stubborn and unafraid to fight for her beliefs. She volunteers herself to enter the Hunger Games to protect her sister, and later must try to defeat the government that is plotting against her.
Changed/Same:
Katniss first-hand experiences and learns about the cruelty and unfairness of the powerful establishments and government, which forces her to change from a passive spectator to an active tool for change. She, however, stays true to her core beliefs and personality despite the hardships around her.
Challenge:
Participating and surviving the Hunger Games was Katniss' main challenge, but it shifts into an attempt to build a resistance to overthrow the government after her second participation in the Games.
Best Accomplishment:
Winning the Hunger Games and overthrowing the corrupt government.
Goal:
Katniss' goal progresses from surviving the Hunger Games and protecting her loved ones to serving justice to the corrupt system over her.
